- Authorised Avida dealers
Avida distributes and supports its vehicles through a network of independently operated authorised dealers.
When you request pricing, a brochure, a test drive, an appointment, dealer contact or other sales assistance, we may disclose your contact details, product interests and enquiry information to an authorised Avida dealer. This will generally be the dealer you select or a dealer located in or responsible for your preferred geographic area.
The dealer may contact you to:
- respond to your enquiry;
- discuss suitable Avida products;
- provide pricing or a quotation;
- arrange an inspection, demonstration or test drive;
- assist with a purchase;
- provide service or aftersales support; or
- follow up on your enquiry.
Authorised dealers are separate businesses and may have their own privacy policies and information-handling practices. You should review the privacy policy of the relevant dealer when dealing directly with it.
Avida may receive information from a dealer concerning the progress or outcome of your enquiry so that we can administer our customer and dealer systems, improve our services and provide appropriate follow-up.
- Marketing communications
Where you have consented, or where otherwise permitted by law, we may use your contact details to send you information about:
- Avida vehicles, products and services;
- new models and product updates;
- promotions and special offers;
- dealer events and displays;
- owners’ events;
- brochures and editorial content;
- roadside assistance, servicing and aftersales programs;
- surveys and customer research; and
- other Avida news that may interest you.
Marketing communications may be sent by email, SMS, telephone, post, digital advertising or other electronic means.
Submitting a general enquiry or making a one-off purchase does not necessarily mean that you have consented to receive ongoing marketing. Where express marketing consent is required, we will seek it through the relevant form, subscription process or other clear consent mechanism.
Our commercial electronic messages will identify Avida or the business sending the message on our behalf and will include a functional method for unsubscribing where required by law.
You can withdraw your consent or change your marketing preferences at any time by:
- using the unsubscribe link in an email;
- following the opt-out instructions in an SMS;
- contacting our Privacy Officer; or
- using any preference-management facility we make available.
We will action unsubscribe requests within the period required by law. We may still send non-marketing communications that are reasonably necessary to provide a product or service, respond to an enquiry, administer a transaction, communicate safety information or meet a legal obligation.
- Customer relationship management, automation and personalisation
We use customer relationship management and marketing platforms, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Customer Insights, to manage enquiries and customer relationships.
These systems may help us:
- record and allocate enquiries;
- communicate with customers and prospective customers;
- manage customer preferences;
- send service, warranty and roadside-assistance reminders;
- administer customer journeys;
- analyse engagement with our communications;
- group customers according to interests, location, ownership or enquiry history;
- identify communications that may be relevant to particular customers; and
- improve the timing and relevance of our services and marketing.
We may use automated rules to assist with these activities. However, we do not intend to use automated processing to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you without appropriate human involvement.
- Surveys, reviews and customer feedback
We may invite you to participate in surveys, provide feedback or submit a review. Participation is voluntary unless the survey forms part of a service or process you have requested.
We may use platforms such as Microsoft Customer Voice or other survey providers to collect and analyse responses.
Survey and feedback information may be used to:
- improve our products and services;
- evaluate customer satisfaction;
- train staff and dealers;
- understand customer preferences;
- identify service issues; and
- support business and product planning.
We will not publish an identifiable testimonial, photograph or customer story without permission, except where otherwise permitted by law.
- Website information, cookies and tracking technologies
When you visit an Avida website, we and our technology providers may automatically collect information such as:
- your IP address;
- device type;
- browser and operating system;
- screen size;
- general location derived from your IP address;
- pages viewed;
- links or buttons selected;
- time and date of visits;
- referring website;
- time spent on particular pages; and
- interactions with website content.
We use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage and similar technologies to:
- operate and secure our websites;
- remember preferences;
- understand website use;
- measure website and campaign performance;
- improve content and navigation;
- prevent misuse;
- personalise content; and
- support advertising and remarketing where used.
Some cookies are necessary for the website to function. Other cookies, such as analytics, performance and advertising cookies, may be optional.
You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where available, through our cookie-consent controls. Blocking some cookies may affect website functionality.
- Website analytics and session recording
We may use analytics and session-recording services, including Microsoft Clarity and other analytics providers, to understand how visitors use our websites and to improve their content, layout and performance.

- pages viewed;
- clicks, scrolling and mouse movements;
- time spent on pages;
- browser and device information;
- screen dimensions;
- general location information; and
- technical identifiers such as IP addresses or cookie identifiers.
We configure session-recording tools to obscure or exclude sensitive form fields where reasonably possible. We do not intentionally use session recordings to capture payment information, financing information, passwords or the contents of fields designed to collect directly identifying personal information.
Because technical identifiers may be linked to an individual, some analytics information may constitute personal information under Australian privacy law.
We may also use Google Analytics, advertising platforms and other measurement tools where enabled on our websites. Information collected by these providers is subject to their own privacy terms as well as our contractual arrangements with them.
- When we disclose personal information
We may disclose personal information where reasonably required for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to:

- payment and financial-service providers, where relevant;
- website, hosting, cloud-storage and information-technology providers;
- customer relationship management, communications and survey providers;
- marketing, advertising, analytics and research providers;
- event organisers;
- insurers and professional advisers;
- related entities and business partners;
- regulatory bodies, courts, law-enforcement agencies and government authorities; and
- a purchaser or prospective purchaser in connection with a proposed sale, restructure or transfer of all or part of our business.
We require service providers to handle personal information appropriately and only for authorised purposes, subject to applicable contractual and legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information.
- Overseas storage and disclosure
Some of our service providers operate or store information outside Australia. As a result, personal information may be processed or stored in other countries, including the United States and other locations in which our cloud, technology, analytics or communications providers operate.
The countries involved may change as our providers and systems change.
Before disclosing personal information to an overseas recipient, we will take reasonable steps required by the Privacy Act to ensure that the recipient handles the information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, unless an exception applies.
The use of an overseas-hosted service does not always amount to a disclosure under Australian privacy law. Where it does amount to a disclosure, we will manage it in accordance with our legal obligations.
- Data quality
We take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we collect, use and disclose is accurate, complete, relevant and current.
Please contact us if your details change or if you believe information we hold about you is incorrect.
- Security of personal information
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
Depending on the circumstances, these measures may include:
- access controls and user permissions;
- password and authentication controls;
- secure cloud and technology providers;
- encryption and secure transmission methods where appropriate;
- staff confidentiality obligations;
- system monitoring, backups and security updates;
- physical security measures;
- staff training; and
- procedures for responding to suspected privacy or cybersecurity incidents.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. Although we use reasonable safeguards, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted online.
- Retention and destruction
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- provide products and services;
- administer enquiries and customer relationships;
- maintain vehicle, warranty, service and ownership records;
- fulfil legal, taxation, accounting and regulatory requirements;
- manage complaints, disputes and legal claims;
- maintain appropriate business records; and
- carry out the other purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Different types of information may be retained for different periods.
When personal information is no longer required for a lawful purpose, we will take reasonable steps to destroy it securely or permanently de-identify it, unless we are legally required or permitted to retain it.
- Accessing and correcting your information
You may ask us to provide access to personal information we hold about you or to correct information you believe is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.
To protect your privacy, we may need to verify your identity before responding.
We will respond within a reasonable period. We generally do not charge for making a request, although we may charge reasonable costs for providing access where permitted by law. We will tell you about any proposed charge in advance.
In some circumstances, the Privacy Act permits us to refuse access or correction. If we refuse a request, we will provide written reasons where required and explain how you may make a complaint.
If we do not agree to make a requested correction, you may ask us to associate a statement with the information noting that you consider it inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.
- Anonymity and pseudonyms
Where practicable, you may interact with us anonymously or by using a pseudonym.
This may not be possible where we need to verify your identity, provide a product or service, register a vehicle or warranty, respond to a formal complaint, complete a transaction or comply with the law.
- Children’s privacy
Avida’s websites and services are primarily intended for adults.
We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information directly from children without the involvement or consent of a parent or guardian where this would be appropriate.

We maintain procedures for responding to suspected data breaches.
If a breach involving personal information is likely to result in serious harm, we will comply with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, including by notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where required.
We may also provide affected individuals with practical recommendations to reduce the risk of harm.
- Third-party websites and social media
Our websites may contain links to third-party websites, dealer websites, social-media platforms and embedded services.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party services that we do not control. You should review the privacy policy of the relevant third party before providing personal information.
